BTEC Sport head to Barcelona
2nd November 2018
Over a weekend in October most of the year 13 BTEC Sport students went to Barcelona to learn more about the sporting culture there. They explored the city with an on-the-go treasure hunt, featuring key sporting and Olympic locations across the city. They learnt to navigate around Barcelona and learnt more about the legacy of the Olympics in the community. Students also went to both Camp Nou, home to Barcelona Football Club, and the 1992 Olympic Stadium. They learnt about the history of both venues and the importance of both in the active lifestyles of Catalans. We tried Tapas, played table tennis in a local park, went to the Pilota World Championships and enjoyed the sunshine whilst playing volleyball on Bogatell beach. The students and staff alike had a fantastic time and certainly embraced active Spanish culture!
