The Education and Skills Funding Agency (ESFA) has provided Comberton Sixth Form with some additional funding via the 16 to 19 tuition fund in 2020 to 2021 (this is £150.00 per student without GCSE grade 4 or above in English and/or maths). This is ring fenced funding for schools, colleges and all other 16 to 19 providers to mitigate the disruption to learning arising from coronavirus.
In both 2020-2021 and 2021-2022, the funding received was used to support small group tuition for 16 to 19 students in English and Maths. We identified all students in Year 12 who have not gained a grade 5 in either or both their Maths and English GCSEs. In 2020-2021, students in Year 13 who were unable to pass this threshold in any previous re-sit were also been included. We would not normally have addition groups of students in Year 13 with this provision, but have used the funding to enable specific teaching for these students this academic year as their previous attempts to resit in Year 12 were significantly disrupted by Covid-19. Due to the nature of our cohort, our funding grant is rather limited, and does not cover all the costs of this provision.
